A Lovely Weekend

Friday was filled with the usual soccer game for Tyler, which included an apparent "shot of a lifetime" by Jon (notice I said "shot" not "goal" because he got robbed...by a girl!) while I stayed at home and put the kids to bed and watched Harry Potter 4. I know I am behind, but I just finished reading it a few weeks ago. Everyone (mostly Tyler, who has finished all of the books) has laughed at me for only being on book 4. But I am the one laughing now, when I get to sit in bed and read number five at night and he sits...completely jealous!! Anyway, the movie totally left out SO MUCH! I was disappointed, but I guess books are always better. I'd like to think that is because our imaginations are so much cooler!

So Saturday we took the kids down to Gilroy Gardens for the day with the Bennett Family. One of my customers wanted me to help out with a fundraiser and so we scored FREE tickets...always nice! (Especially to a WAY overpriced theme park where paddle boat ducks are a highlight!) So I am including a few pics from the day. Then we rushed home so I could make it to the RS Broadcast, which was highly motivating. Then off to my cute friend, Elaine's for a night with the girls. Treats, facials, and tons of talk, what could be better!! Loved it! Thanks girlies for a fun night! I am so lucky to have such great friends.

Markham, Ava, Julia, and Ava
They had the coolest trees at the garden.

Ava actually really loved the "duckies".

She's all business.

I had to add a few pics of the kiddos. Christian is growing so much. I can't believe he is 7 months. I think he really might get cuter every day.

So...

potty training...

What a joy! About a month or more ago, my sweet little #1 said that she wanted to wear panties. I explained that if I allowed her to wear panties then she would in turn need to potty on the toilet. It was a deal. I put her in them and it seemed like a seamless transition. It seemed as if potty training was done and done! And here I am thinking, that was so easy...

Fast forward a month and a half to yesterday morning. I am in the shower when Ava comes running in, "Mom I need to go wee-wee!" (she struggles getting down some of her pants-bless the ghetto booty her father has bestowed upon her.) So out I hop, luckily grabbing a towel on the way, shampoo still in hair, to help her in "her" bathroom, not the toilet right next to my shower! So by the time I make it in there a small pool of slightly yellow liquid is forming next to the bathtub. So we had a little accident, no big deal...

For some reason, Ava took this as free game for the rest of the day! She would not go on the potty at all that whole day!! AHHH! I was dying!

I had to brace myself when I woke up this morning, thinking we were completely back to square one. Well, she didn't have a single accident all day! Loved it!

So, is this normal and should I expect more of these day? I NEED to be prepared...mentally!

I've Been Tagged!

The Rules are:
1) Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use the middle name that you wish you had.
2) When tagged, you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name facts.
3) At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave a comment telling them that they're tagged and to read your blog.

FISH (Yup, no middle name, this is my maiden)

F- Fantastic, yes I am talking about me, but it also happens to be my favorite word that my husband uses from time to time. It always makes me giggle a little inside! :) hehe

I- In desparate need of sleep!

S- Sporty, not as sporty as I used to be, but once an athlete always an athlete...right?

H- Home Body, whether it be with mine and Tyler's families in Utah, or here with my own little family, I enjoy being at home spending time with those I love.

Disneyland

My little alien!

Oh how I love the place and apparently it is in the blood because Ava did too! She was thrilled and did all the oooo's and ahhh's in just the right places. She loved Alice, Dumbo, and Small World the best. She went on the Matterhorn and came off saying, "It's a nice bear! He has red eyes and smiles at me!" Then we went on Pirates, she didn't love it the first time and the second time she just kept saying, "We need to get outta here." Oh, I love the personality that is coming out!

Ava loved the Bug's Land, especially the water park in the hot sun.

She needed to take a little break and this looked like a good spot.

So we had a little trashy looking girl one day. She had "messed" her first outfit so we had to buy her new stuff at the park and this was the best that we could find (that wasn't a sweatshirt or a princess dress).

Tooth=Food

Two big things happened for Christian this week on our trip. First after at least 3 months of constant drool face, he broke his first tooth. I just hope this means a new beginning in the sleep area... Second, SWEET POTATOES!! And he loves them like his long lost best friend.

I just love this picture.

The Happiest Birthday on Earth!

So while in So Cal my mom and I celebrated our birthdays (Thank you for all the happy birthdays!) On Saturday we spent the day in New Port finding and seeing my parents new condo and we saw the Rusty Pelican which is a favorite seafood place of mine. So we decided that we would have our birthday dinner there. Well, after Monday, our first day at Disneyland we had a slight change of plans. We had a new birthday wish...
Breakfast with the characters! :) What could be better!

Christian couldn't stop staring and Ava watched until they got too close and then she wouldn't look at all.

It really was a great birthday! I am so lucky to share the day with my mom, we always get to have a little party together! Thanks mom, I hope you had as great of a day as I did!

The Race!

We did it!!! Despite a few minute details (such as the 95 degree weather, the running phenomenon associated with port-a-potties, and Tyler's problem with his feet) the race was awesome! It was amazing to see 14,000 people all grouped together to run an insane distance. They sent us off with fireworks and we ran all through the park. Characters were along the way to cheer us on, not to mention countless spectators, bands, cheerleaders the whole bit, and let me tell you they were VERY motivating! We got to run through the castle (which was my favorite) then we went out of the park and all the way past the Honda Center and through the Angel's Stadium. We actually ran down on the field and as we crossed home plate they had a camera that put us up on the Jumbotron. We then ran back to Disneyland and finished near downtown Disney. It was so great to say I finished and that I ran the whole time. I was hoping for a better time, but all things considered I am happy I finished.

Pain...

is the overwhelming feeling in my knees after the run this morning and a day at Disneyland.

...details to come
