Ava + Scissors = Bye Bye Flowing Locks

Ever since Christian had hair it's been long, blond locks (reminder below). Ty and I have never really wanted to cut it short. It is just him. Well, imagine this...

Ava and Christian in the bath...

Scissors way up high on the bathroom shelf...

Ava's brilliant idea..."I've seen mom do it, just a little snip here and there."

The Result: our sweet boy with flowing locks...

and real short bangs!

So we decided not to leave him looking like the above picture. We got out the clippers and while Christian screamed and I cried (not really, but I was close) we chopped the locks. The blond is gone :( But it is a good thing he is a cute kid. He looks completely different but I am actually really liking it.
Just in case you were wondering, I wasn't home when this all occurred. Tyler just came in and gave Ava "the look" and she was sobbing. The whole time we were cutting his hair she would say, "I'm gonna miss his hair." Everyday since she has reminded me that she misses his hair, but also mentions how handsome he looks everytime we finish doing his hair.

Agh! I cut off one of my two pigtails as a kid...so I had to wear a lot of side ponytails for a year.

He does look totally different. he looked more like a laid-back Cali kid before, distinguished little gentleman after!

So sad! He is super cute either way. I am terrified of this type of thing happening. Luckily it happened to your boy instead of a girl!

We think the scissors to the locks left Christian mighty handsome. I can't believe how different he looks though. So cute!

He looks adorable...I love the new do. Everyone has a scissors story but I have to say that's a pretty good one and even the picture to prove it. Awesome.

i love the long hair too! that is me and my hubbys goal - for our kid to have long hair...but your son does look completely dashing with the short hair too! at least it wasn't to her hair!

Wow- it's amazing how much difference a little hair cut can make. He looks not just older, but so different. I love it though. You couldn't make him ugly if you tried.

that's too funny - he is adorable either way... this is a dumb question cause I know you're so close to having baby #3 but we're planning the xmas party and were wondering if you're coming to visit at all?

oh my gosh. he's sooo different looking. I wouldn't have known what a difference a new do makes. I love it short and long...he's cute BOTH ways!! he does look so much older now! what a cute boy. at least they weren't jabbing each others eyes out with the scissors:) could have been worse i guess.

That is sweet your friend goes to Thailand a lot! Yeah, for sure I'd love some tips! I just have a few quick questions for her if it's not a total pain...can you give her my email?. allegra.george@gmail.com

thanks so much!

FISH! I laughed so hard at this!!! I'm sure it was sad, but I really laughed so hard. My sister did that to me all over my head. She cut off all my curls! But I like his hair now. What a stud!
